I wasn’t sure where to even start with this blog post.

When are you getting married?
Do you not want children?
You are working too hard and travel too much, that’s why you don’t have kids.
We are waiting……
Stop wearing heels, it will damage your womb.
Are you at least dating anyone?
Wow…you really need to eat. You are too skinny.
How old are you again?
I prophesy triplets for you!
So many pointless and intrusive questions about your life, marriage and family ‘stagnancy’ that can leave you both embarrassed and damaged.

My top tip is to know that no ones life is perfect in their eyes.
Often people transfer their own insecurities onto others without meaning to.
My advice to everyone is be kind. You don’t know what people are facing behind closed doors. Especially those people that seem to be the strongest. They often are suffering the most.
My top 5 tips that I used to navigate intrusive statements
- The only person who had an opinion that mattered to me was my husband
- Focus on the things you enjoy that will take your mind off your journey
- People are human…they likely mean well, some may not…but remember we are all HUMAN.
- You donโt owe ANYONE an explanation. Often those throwing stones should really be focusing on their own journeys.
- Communicate with your spouse. It is so important, you will find comfort in the common goal you have and can build a future together alongside whatever journey you are on. If you do not have a spouse, you can confide in those you trust. Sharing your thoughts can avoid immense mental pressure for you.
And for my brothers and sisters waiting on God for something in particular at present, just know that joy cometh in the morning and it will always be ‘worth the wait’. ๐๐๐พ๐๐พ
