Wow wow wow. Time has flown since being a fresh new mum to my prince Micah, and then a first time mum to my princess Jess a year later. What a journey.
I remember how often i was laughed at for being a first time mum.
I was the only one who could smell that Jessica had pood, but was told i was wrong, until her nappy was checked. I was right EVERY TIME.
Or the time, i was worried that the toys being thrown around the baby room at my church may hit my son – i was laughed at for being a first time mum.
There were soooo many examples of comments I got as a first time mum and it made it hard at times to be confident about asking for help.
So here are a few things I would say were helpful in navigating the first time mum stigma. Feel free to add any that I may have missed.
1. Stop apologising for being concerned.

2. Don’t Allow Seasoned mums to dismiss your feelings.

3. Unsolicited advice flying from all angles

4. Breastfeeding….

5. Don’t compete with mums that have older children…

6. Trust. Your. Instincts.

I hope these are helpful.
