Motherhood

Babies see possibilities, it’s the world that sees problems.

My babies amaze me on a daily basis.

I ask myself this. At what point did we lose our innocence and the trust that we had as babies?

Scripture says to be like a child, so that we can navigate life trusting God without questioning….but we do question.

Jess is fearlessly trying to crawl, not thinking she may fail. Not thinking she may hurt herself. Probably not thinking at all. Just doing.

I saw danger when he climbed on the bike, he saw possibilities.

Micah on the other hand is beginning to be more aware of his surroundings. He is cautious at times, not wanting to fall if he has climbed something and with him, we are having to encourage him to be bolder, and not get frustrated when he initially can’t do something.

When he saw the motorbike, he RAN towards it. I’m not a fan of motorbikes as I think they can be dangerous, but I am very conscious not to transfer my anxieties unto my babies.

It is so interesting to see how different our two babies are at present. I often wonder if it is an age thing or a personality thing.

They challenge my belief system constantly

Hᴇʀᴇ ᴀʀᴇ ᴍʏ ᴛᴏᴘ ᴛɪᴘs ᴛᴏ ᴄʀᴇᴀᴛɪɴɢ ᴀ ᴘᴏssɪʙɪʟɪᴛʏ ᴍɪɴᴅsᴇᴛ:
  • Ask yourself ‘What is the worst that can happen?’
  • Stop overthinking things. It is not helpful. We create stories in our minds that are completely unfounded at times. These can act as a barrier to progress.
  • Think about what you DO want, forget what you don’t what. Meditating on what you DO NOT want can often attract those things to us as all our energy goes there.
  • Train your mind to look for possibilities and not problems.

As a man thinks, so is his.

Prov 23:7

Maybe we all need to find our inner child.
